Maureen Rowlands, who is the Director of Support Services at Prostate Cancer Canada, will provide an updated overview of the health promotion and survivorship information and services provided through PCC.
Maureen has presented to PCCN Brampton in the past and always provides us with useful information. Her presentation this time will cover a broad range of areas including:
- Health information content and resources
- The Prostate Cancer Information Service
- The TrueNTH survivorship initiatives
- Physician/Health Care Professional Education and Engagement
We have mentioned the exciting True Nth program in the past. As described on the Prostate Cancer Canada website:
TrueNTH is a global plan to improve prostate cancer care. Clinicians, researchers, patients and organizations around the world are working together to identify, trial and implement new ways of significantly improving the lives of men - and their partners and family members - living with prostate cancer.
TrueNTH is about making positive changes for men with prostate cancer. It aims to address the needs of men along all points of their cancer journey, helping them to achieve a good quality of life and to feel knowledgeable and confident about managing their disease.
In Canada, the work was awarded by Prostate Cancer Canada and is proudly funded by the Movember Foundation.
The Canadian organizations involved in TrueNTH include Cancer Care Ontario, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and London Health Sciences Research Centre in Ontario and similar high-quality organizations all across Canada.
